2018 Finalist Nicole Holstein Educe Handbags

Do you currently have your own brand or collection?
I am an up an coming brand but have not launched yet.

What is your personal aesthetic?
I love bold colors that can create statement pieces.

What are your current strengths & weaknesses as a designer?
My strengths are creating unique aesthetically pleasing designs and incorporating harmonious colors within them. I use simple shapes well and create unique silhouettes. I construct all my own designs and an improvement on the construction end would be having the proper machinery to construct my designs to their fullest potential. I am currently finding innovative ways to have a home sewing machine carry out the designs I envision.

Why did you decide on this design?
I decided on this design because it has an edge to it with how bold of a zipper I will be using. The colors will also create a rich feel that adds to the edge. I enjoy versatility so it also includes numerous ways to be worn and has a hidden pocket as well.

Why did you select these particular materials to work for your sketch?
I selected vinyl's because I think they can achieve a polished look while not being to stiff or too flexible of a material to work with.

What can you contribute to the Aimee Kestenberg brand?
I can contribute new, innovative ideas when it comes to bag silhouettes. I also have an eye for color and really now how to use trims to accentuate the already unique silhouettes. I don't just design bags, I design art with a personality.
